Privacy should be understandable before you submit anything.

This notice describes the information Operative Signal currently collects through subscriptions, contact, contributions, cookie choices, and administrative operations.

Information collected

Forms may collect an email address, name, organization, role, message, consent choice, and information you voluntarily provide about a proposed resource or collaboration. Basic technical logs may be processed by hosting and security providers.

Cookies and local storage

Operative Signal uses necessary browser storage for basic operation, security, consent records, form abuse prevention, and routing. Preference storage may remember interface choices such as dark mode. Analytics storage is disabled unless you opt in through the cookie banner. You can reopen cookie settings from the footer at any time.

How information is used

Information is used to respond to messages, manage newsletter interest, review contributions, operate the service, prevent abuse, and maintain records of consent and editorial decisions. Operative Signal does not claim ownership of clinical data merely because a contributor contacts the project.

Sensitive and clinical data

Do not submit identifiable patient information, confidential clinical recordings, or material you are not authorized to share through ordinary forms or email. A contribution inquiry is not an approved clinical-data transfer pathway.

Private Community Network and Surgical Video

Approved members may provide a professional email, display name, specialty, procedure metadata, discussion comments, and a short video they affirm they are authorized to share. Contributors remain accountable under their verified Operative Signal identity; email addresses are not exposed in ordinary Community responses. Video files are stored in a private object store and remain unavailable to members until moderation. Public Space and Inner Circle accept nonpatient material only. Any separately activated patient-derived pathway is limited to a governance-complete Project Space with recorded institutional, ethics, legal, retention, and reviewer context. Do not upload direct identifiers in images, audio, overlays, filenames, or metadata. De-identification reduces risk but does not guarantee anonymity.

Community terms and governance records

For approved Community accounts, Operative Signal records the legal-document version and checksum, when it was first viewed, when it was accepted, the required acknowledgements, and later withdrawal or replacement where applicable. Per-submission governance records may also include attestations about authority, institutional policy, destination, third-party rights, metadata, audio, identifiers, re-identification risk, ethics or IRB status, and the stated consent or other lawful basis. These records support access control, audit, moderation, incident response, and legal accountability.

Community video retention and removal

Pending or rejected uploads may be retained briefly for moderation, security, disputes, and deletion processing. Approved clips and associated discussion are retained while they remain useful to the beta or until removal is required or accepted. Contributors and affected rights holders may request review or removal at privacy@operativesignal.com. Backup and security-log deletion may take additional time.

Sharing and retention

Information may be processed by infrastructure providers required to operate the site or disclosed when legally required. Records are retained only as long as reasonably needed for the stated purpose, security, and legal obligations.

Your choices

You may request access, correction, deletion, or withdrawal from communications by using the contact form on the Community page or by emailing privacy@operativesignal.com. Legal rights vary by location and may be subject to required record retention.
